Water-based fluids used during fracturing treatments can cause migration or swelling of clay particles that are present in the formation during the treatment. These can significantly reduce the permeability of the treated reservoir.
Aubin has several clay stabilisers in their portfolio, including traditional potassium chloride SCS-117L and newer technology such as SCS-01. SCS-01 was developed to improve health and safety performance and with a lower freezing point, which can be the case when using potassium chloride in winter.
